The Foundation’s mission is to support the development and standardization of new distributed ledger technologies (DLT) that drive permissionless innovation ecosystems, in particular, the IOTA Tangle. The IOTA Tangle is an innovative type of DLT specifically designed for the Internet-of-Things (IoT) environment. It is an open-source protocol facilitating novel Machine-to-Machine (M2M) interactions, including secure data transfer, fee-less real-time micropayments, and the collection and dissemination of sensor-based and other types of oracle’ data. Job Description You are a skilled software engineer by heart and have always been interested in the latest technology? You are passionate to make a difference by working on projects that herald a new age of information technology – together with world-leading, multinational companies and their best-in-class teams of the automotive, finance, energy, e-health, logistics and supply chain industries? We are looking for an experienced software engineer, who loves to solve complex problems, and who is eager to learn new technologies while working on the next generation of DLT products. You will work closely together with a Technical Analyst and a global team of top talents to design, develop, maintain and test IOTA based solutions (e.g. PoC implementation or other products/services within specific industries) in production-near scenarios. We work with a variety of environments and platforms, and our engineers develop solutions not only for desktop and mobile microprocessor architectures but also custom embedded firmware that will act as the brains of the future Smart-IoT. Our team, like our technology, is distributed. For this position, you can choose to work remotely from anywhere in the world, or you can work out of our satellite offices in Berlin (HQ), Tel Aviv, or later this year Singapore, Taipei. Job Responsibilities Design and develop IOTA software components, for one of web, mobile, PC Deliver working solution based on project requirements and scope Seamlessly integrate front- and backend of the develop solutions Document the developed solution Utilize best practice implementation, build best practice know-how through close interaction with other SW Engineers Integrate and improve current solutions as part of the global IF community Participate in and help transform cutting-edge research into practical software products Implement software development best practices and collaborate with other software projects in open source DLT space Minimum Job Qualifications High level of fluency in spoken and written English 1-3 years’ experience in one of C, C++, Java 2-3 years’ experience in JavaScript Experience in agile software development Excellent interpersonal skills and team player B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or able to demonstrate significant relevant field experience Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex system level issues Self-driven and motivated with a passion to research and act where software and cryptography meet Preferred Job Qualifications 3-5 years of professional development experience 1-3 Hands-On experience in Software-/ Application Development in one of the following: automotive, aviation, finance, energy, e-health, logistics or supply chain industries Experience with real-time embedded systems Exposure to TCP/IP Stack and networking Understanding of software-hardware interaction and possibly writing/debugging kernel level issues History of participation in the IOTA and larger open-source community We offer our employees… Constant technology challenges Opportunity to be a high-impact contributor Work with the best engineers in their field Casual and fun work environment from anywhere in the world with a reliable internet connection The IOTA Foundation is an equal opportunity employer.
