Posted over 1 year agoSoftware Engineer Wolfram – Alpha Web R&D Champaign, Illinois, United States Full-time Allows remote Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, has an opportunity for a Software Engineer with a diverse skill set to work in the Wolfram|Alpha Web Engineering department. The position will entail collaborating with multiple teams to produce projects of varying sizes and levels of complexity. The ideal candidate will have a talent for collaborative development in a small team and for working independently. Responsibilities Work with various services and systems and improve how they communicate Build, test, benchmark and refactor elements of our REST API Containerize our back end applications with Docker Write unit tests and create excellent documentation Requirements 2 years experience in Java Understanding of Docker, containers and associated infrastructure deployments (e.g. Kubernetes) Ability to learn/use the Wolfram Language, Scala and other technologies A solid understanding of REST Familiarity with the Linux environment and basic server architecture Experience working with a mixed team of developers, designers and PMs Excellent communicator Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics or a related technical or quantitative field Location: Champaign, Illinois or remote Wolfram is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at its company.
