Breezy HR's a globally loved, Jacksonville-based full-stack hiring platform for SMBs.

In this role, you'll use your extensive knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to improve the Breezy ATS, a complex web-based application used and loved daily by thousands of companies around the world. You'll engineer for usability, maintainability, and performance while delighting users by making their working lives simpler, more pleasant, and more productive.


What you'll be doing

  • Design, implement or improve features using a variety of front-end technologies
  • Meaningfully contribute to the product and core frontend systems by suggesting and executing improvements
  • Brainstorm features with product managers and designers and guide decisions based on your knowledge of the codebase
  • Learn about, use, and teach new web technologies
  • Assist our skilled Customer Success team in triaging bugs and solving issues in production
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
  • Mentor and be mentored by other engineers
  • Review code and have your code reviewed
  • Debug production issues

What you should have

  • 3+ years of practical experience writing client-side JavaScript
  • Expertise in building responsive layouts with CSS and HTML
  • Experience building and debugging complex systems in both individual and team environments
  • Experience with modern browser technologies
  • Strong UX and design sensibilities and an interest in sweating the small stuff
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Self-awareness, a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and empathy

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience working on consumer-facing products
  • Experience with Node
  • Experience with WebSockets, Local Storage or ES6
  • Optimizing the JavaScript performance of large-scale, high-volume systems
  • The Git workflow, including pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD systems
