Software Engineer – Performance Engineering; all levels - MTS, SMTS, PMTS, LMTS

Location: Germany, Jena preferred; possibly Berlin or Dresden with frequent travels to Jena.

This role will report into Director Performance Engineering and will be located in Jena or

remote.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Performance Engineer will work closely with engineering teams, support and technical operations to detect and analyze performance issue in platform and custom solutions.

The candidate applying for this assignment should have robust research, analytical, cross-platform and strong communication skills.

  • Application platform systems operate at peak performance and capacity on all tiers
  • Work cross organizationally to gather and analyze data and develop ideas for implementations
  • Work with architects, developers and product management to design and develop guidelines about safe use of products and platform
  • Work with architects to determine how to meet growing performance and capacity requirements while ensuring reliability and stability of the platform
  • Maintain, develop and expand performance benchmark tools

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Expertise in Java, JavaScript, OOP and HTML
  • 1+ years’ experience designing and implementing complex application and systems solutions
  • Experience in digital commerce
  • 1+ years’ experience interfacing with clients or working cross organizationally
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to gather and synthesize data for review
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Proof record of ability working with and diagnosing of complex technical product issues
  • Demonstration of solution-oriented work style
  • Experience in CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master degree preferred

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of APM /Performance tools
  • Experience with load testing tools
  • Experience with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
  • Experience developing and deploying SaaS applications and services into production.
  • Exposure to Public Cloud computing
