We have an immediate opening for a Ruby on Rails Software Engineer. We want you to join our Product Engineering team and help us build a product our customers love. The Product Engineering team at TaxJar is solving complex problems on a daily basis, supporting our growing customer base and creating new solutions in a complex domain. We deal with large datasets, complex frequently-changing sales tax rules, and automating complex processes for thousands of business customers*This is a full-time remote position available to folks located in the US.AS A RAILS ENGINEER ON THE PLATFORM TEAM YOU WILLDevelop performant, accurate, and testable reports that our more than 15k customers relay on every dayWork with our Research Team to keep reports up to date in response to changing tax lawsInvestigate and resolve complex issues for customers and other teamsWrite strong Ruby on Rails code dailyBe challenged to solve new problemsReview and test your teammates pull requestsContribute to and maintain our existing Rspec test suitesMaintain and update our core SaaS business logicBuild out apps and services for managing thousands of sales tax rulesWork with Ruby, Rails, Sidekiq, and moreHelp monitor and support 24/7 Rails applications and servicesREQUIREMENTS2-5 years production experience with Rails, Postgres, SidekiqAbility to write clear and accurate tests using RSpec/CapybaraWrite code that is maintainable and readable by your teamBe accountable for the code you deliver to productionManage development tasks from assignment through to productionAgile, humble, trustworthy, and a team playerRapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environmentPassion for building simple and intuitive solutions for complex problems in ecommercePrior SaaS development, API development or similar app dev experienceExcel at communicating with the team remotely (chat, video, email, etc)YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT FOR OUR TEAM IF YOUOnly want to work remotelyAre a PRO at communicating and collaborationHighly value working with people you like and respectAre accountableAre confident in your skills and a solid team player (We’re peers here, no egos please) but also comfortable working asynchronouslyHungry to play an impactful role and not afraid to failWe’re a happy team and we all really love what we do.
