Description SAIC is seeking a Software Tool Developer on the OMES II contract in support of the Restore-L program in the Satellite Servicing Projects Division (SSPD) at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. This position is located in Greenbelt, MD. The Restore-L mission is a Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Satellite Servicing Project Division (SSPD) managed mission. Restore-L is a robotic servicing mission designed to refuel a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite. It contains 3 elements the Flight Element comprised of the Restore-L Servicing Vehicle (RSV) and development testbeds, the Ground Element comprised of the systems required to conduct RSV operations and the supporting networks and facilities, and the Launch Element comprised of the Launch Vehicle and supporting facilities and services. The SSPD is responsible for the design, engineering, development, test and operations of the Restore-L Mission through an integrated team at GSFC. The Servicing Payload design, development and RSV integration will be conducted at GSFC. JOB DESCRIPTION The Software Tool Developer will provide Software and Simulator Development support for the Restore-L Mission. The engineer will develop tools to enable the Restore-L team to perform robot and spacecraft multibody dynamics simulations using ADAMS from MSC Software. The simulations will be used to study the dynamics and performance of Restore-L s spacecraft servicing robot systems. Job duties include Design and develop software tools and solutions to interface ADAMS with other simulation systems. Integration and testing of multi-discipline simulation components into complex robot simulations. Specify requirements and define interfaces for simulation systems. Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements of simulation systems. Develop software to perform the following functions -Interface fromto a Linux machine with local or remote access from a Windows machine -Build Simulink block that interfaces ADP block with ADAMS plant - interface control software (as the master) with ADAMS plant embedded in Simulink -Import parameters for Monte-Carlo analysis from Matlab and build parameter tables -Run co-simulation -Save ADAMS output and store results localremote in formats compatible with MATLAB and ADAMS Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor s degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, or closely related field with 9+ years of related experience Experience with developing simulation software on Windows and Linux systems Experience with mechanical dynamics software simulation development using MatlabSimulink, CC++ or equivalent. DESIRED EXPERIENCE Understanding of networking and communication protocols. Proficiency running and developing code for MATLABSimulinkOctave. Familiarity with dynamics, robotics andor controls simulation and ADAMS Experience with FMI (Functional Module Interface Protocol) Experience using configuration management tools such as git. Experience with realtime software development.
