The Salesforce.org Philanthropy Cloud Team is looking for a talented, self-directed, technical writer who is passionate about documentation, philanthropy, and improving the state of the world. Philanthropy Cloud is a new social impact platform to engage and empower millions of citizen philanthropists.

We are seeking a Senior Member Technical Staff, Documentation to join us on a journey to build the next generation network for nonprofits and their corporate partners. This position will require working on a team of individuals focused on development and production, so experience with a software or like-product development team is paramount. Assignments may vary between ongoing projects, and thus the ability to pivot rapidly between various projects is also a crucial skill for this position. Position Description:The SMTS, Documentation writer will be responsible for researching, developing, writing, owning and maintaining Philanthropy Cloud product-related, end-user documentation, as well as developer-oriented documentation (e.g., ERDs, APIs, etc.) Duties will include managing documentation processes, soliciting and engaging customer feedback on documentation, standardizing and maintaining UI look and feel for documentation, and constructing additive content for all aspects of a product: code to UX.

Chief among this additive content will be instructional material for Trailhead - Salesforce's online, gamified learning system. The most qualified candidates will be familiar with Trailhead, its philosophy, its structure, and the unique voice it uses to communicate with our end users. The SMTS, Documentation writer must have conversational skills that are on par with his or her technical communication skills.Our Core Values:

Minimum Requirements:

+ 3-5 years of experience writing end-user technical documentation for a wide range of audiences

+ Ability to produce developer-oriented documentation (API documentation) in addition to end-user documentation

+ Ability to create training material and experience with learning management systems

+ Ability to own complex documentation projects with minimal supervision

+ Great people and communication skills, and a desire to interact directly with end users

+ Proven ability to write for general audiences, as well as more traditional technical audiences

+ Strong content strategy skills with an emphasis on what's best for the user

+ Focus on quality and details, and ability to learn new technologies quickly

+ Excellent problem solver and strong team player

Preferred Requirements:

+ Working knowledge of Salesforce and the Trailhead learning system

+ Experience strategizing and developing technical documentation architecture

+ Experience with various forms of documentation delivery technologies, including DITA/XML, Markdown, and HTML (e.g., easyDITA)

+ Experience with documentation data analysis, including traffic reports, user satisfaction ratings, and SEO

+ Experience delivering and managing collaborative documentation (such as deliverables with multiple authors and community contributions)

+ Experience with agile development methodologies

+ Experience with video and image editing software

+ Experience with Corporate Social Responsibility, Giving, and Volunteering is desirable
