We are looking for a Technical Product Owner to help us build FindHotel's vision of becoming a global accommodation marketplace. You will play a key role in this vision by building cutting edge search capabilities to power our own customer-facing product (Findhotel.net) , as well as third-party products in future. You will build a performant, extensible and feature-rich Search API product that will be used by FindHotel and, in the longer term, by a number of partner travel companies. Search API was released just a few months ago but it already powers large parts of our own customer-facing application (FindHotel.net). As an almost greenfield product you will have the opportunity of shaping this API to become the most advanced deal discovery tool in the industry.

As the leader of our Search API product you will play a key role in the implementation of our company mission: to get every traveler the best accommodation deal, worldwide.

You Will:

• Define the Search API product roadmap together with the rest of the team. You will play a major role in ideating most of the API features and will be responsible for the prioritisation of the product backlog.
• Become the authority in everything related to deal search. FindHotel has access to a massive stream of hotel offers. In order to build valuable features for the Search API clients (and ultimately, to travellers) you must understand deal dynamics better than anybody else at FindHotel, ideally better than anybody else in the industry.
• Talk to real travellers to understand their needs and combine this information with large amounts of quantitative data to identify new opportunities.
• Be a champion of data-driven product development and lead the way in building cutting-edge analytical capabilities within the Search API.
• Discover new capabilities, define enhancements, write requirements, and ultimately specify in detail every feature of the Search API. You will count with the support of your team but you should be able to write the technical documents that describe the contracts that your API offers to its clients.
• Act as visionary leader for the team. Also as an ambassador for the product both inside FindHotel and eventually also externally when Search API is mature enough to be offered to prospective partners.
• Run a high performance team of 3 (soon 4) engineers. In the near future we plan to also add a dedicated data scientist to the team. As the PO of the team you should be a source of inspiration for other team members and you will play a key role in keeping the team motivated and laser-focused on delivering value to travellers.

You Have:

• Preferably a BSc or MSc in Computer Science or another technical field, or experience as a developer/engineer.
• Very strong project management skills, with experience managing complex technical projects.
• Ability to understand technical documentation and, in particular, API development methodologies and technologies.
• Experience working as a Technical Product Owner/Manager, Technical/Engineering Project Manager, or similar
• Data-driven approach to prioritisation. You justify your decisions with data as much as possible but you are not paralysed when data is scarce or inaccurate.
• Ease of communication between your technical team and the business.
• Strong commercial mindset with a passion for solving problems and translating solutions into manageable requirements
• A passion for solving problems and ability to translate those solutions into requirements that your team can execute.
• You are motivated by optimising technology to improve the travel industry.
