The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Territory Sales Representative to lead sales activities within our more strategic, high-growth accounts in the mid market finance territory. In this role, you will be assigned a specific territory and uncover, nurture, progress, and close new sales opportunities for our entire portfolio of offerings. You’ll sell our innovative solutions to businesses ready to adopt more open source as they modernize their IT, and introduce new customers to the many ways in which Red Hat’s technologies can give them a competitive advantage. As a Territory Sales Representative, you will work closely with our extensive channel partner network while contributing to the territory strategy with a variety of internal channel sales stakeholders. You’ll help our Territory Sales team spread our open source story to more people and teams in our top mid market accounts. The most important characteristic of our Territory Sales team is teamwork, so you'll need to be able to work well within a team as well as understand people's challenges.


  • Sell the company's offerings or services directly and through channel partners to the designated mid market accounts
  • Lead the coverage to assigned customers and identify potential opportunities for collaborating with partners
  • Create and lead account plans with internal channel sales account managers and relevant partners to accelerate Red Hat’s multi-product strategies
  • Manage the sales pipeline, including renewals and new business
  • Provide technical and administrative information, demonstrations, and quotes on appropriate customer prices for our offerings
  • Manage forecasts, help partners close deals, and track customer opportunities using company standard customer relationship management (CRM) tools
  • Grow existing partner relationships and promote sales programs developed for and with partners
  • Participate in internal sales training and certification programs to maintain a high knowledge of and proficiency in Red Hat’s offerings and industry trends

  • 5+ years of experience carrying and meeting a sales quota in the finance industry business
  • Insight into the finance industry, including security, insurance and banking, etc.
  • Good territory business play and proper strategy
  • Ability to orchestrate parties like independent software vendors (ISVs), partners, and influencers to perform territory-level business
  • Ability to present company's strategy to customers and to understand their challenges
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills; ability to learn things quickly and adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into simple, understandable terms
  • Experience selling highly technical solutions; knowledge of the complete sales cycle from prospecting to closing
  • Experience successfully managing a sales pipeline and forecast
  • Proven success at promoting sales strategies through and with partners, preferably in a similar sales territory
