Ironclad Technology Services is hiring a UX Design Manager with experience in creating well-crafted, user-centered products. You will be a co-equal partner on a team committed to using research, design, and engineering to deliver well-rounded cloud-based applications and services. You will work with our government partners to better understand and translate policy and business requirements into good design.
Responsibilities
- Defines vision and standards in the execution of user experience design. Approves new standards as needed and acts as a thought leader for the function.
- Proactively identifies the need for and initiates new, complex multi-step user flows that impact multiple functions using various design tools (e.g. experience and service design maps, journey maps, concepts, storyboards, wireframes and prototypes). Oversees the work of their team to ensure best practices are consistently employed.
- Oversees the collection and dissemination of user research, concept testing, usability testing and quantitative analysis to make highly complex and technical design recommendations with broad impact. Acts as an advocate for the end user across multiple cross-functional teams.
- Develops and execute research plans to uncover and solve a range of problems. Nimbly adapt research plans as a client’s needs shift
- Delivers research insights in a way that generates emotion and engagement from the immediate team and senior stakeholders
- Dive deep into qualitative and quantitative data to provide insights that generate product and service innovations
Skills
- Familiarity with the following core disciplines: visual design, UX design, prototyping, front-end development, user research and/or experiment design.
- Requires excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and team building skills, business judgment, and expertise in directing the efforts of a technical staff.
- An adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset
- Understanding of related technical skills, including things like APIs, databases, front end technologies
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the following core disciplines: visual design, UX design, prototyping, front-end development, user research and/or experiment design.
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent years of experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Eligible for DOD Secret Clearance
Travel
- Minimal travel may be required
Physical Demands
- Remains in a sitting/stationary position continually or almost continually during the work day
- Operates a computer and performs desk-based computer tasks continually; frequently viewing a computer screen
- Rarely lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling objects and/or equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds
