Modernist Communication Strategies, a mission-driven marketing and communications agency, is in search of organized, detail oriented Web Designers to join our talent network.

What we're looking for:

This role is responsible for lending our clients' dreams clarity and credibility with the design of landing pages, service pages, and other areas of the website. This requires a lot of cross departmental collaboration - over communicators are very much welcome!

This position will be of variable commitment and will be project based - perfect for flexible freelance creatives that want room to grow, or for individuals that are looking to transfer out of their current field into the world of content writing.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with Video Editor, Graphic Designer, Copywriter, and Client to deliver a comprehensive product.
• Utilize brand guidelines, client feedback, and strategy to implement website design.
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Present and defend designs and key deliverables to peers and executive-level stakeholders.
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.

What You'll Need:

• Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript.
• Good understanding of content management systems.
• Good understanding of search engine optimization principles.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of SEO, metadata, and organic traffic.
• Photoshop for basic image editing.
• Basic HTML.
• Positive and intentional customer service.
• 0-4 years experience in web design.
• Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Digital Media, or Computer Science (Education may be substituted with equivalent work experience).
