As a web developer at mStoner, you’ll be part of the team that makes the magic happen. 

Our technical team works with our creative team to translate design into front-end HTML, build templates and customizations within content management systems (CMS), and ultimately help our clients launch new websites. 

You’ll be a key part of delivering the technical parts of a CMS implementation. You’re a great fit for this role if you have solid technical skills, like variety and learning new things, and thrive on providing excellent client service.

Estimated compensation: $55,000 to $75,000 depending on level of experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Implement the back-end of university websites in Drupal and WordPress
  • Convert hand-written front-end code to custom Drupal and WordPress themes
  • Build content integrations with other web applications and third-party systems
  • Complete maintenance, support and enhancement tasks for existing client websites
  • Contribute to functional / technical planning and quality assurance activities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One to three years of web development experience, preferably with PHP
  • Experience implementing large and complex websites within a content management system environment
  • Prior experience in an agency or consulting firm that services clients
  • Comprehensive knowledge of responsive web design and HTML5 / CSS3 / SASS / SCSS / JavaScript / JQuery
  • Solid understanding of best practices and standards for web development, performance, security, accessibility (WCAG 2.1), and organic search engine optimization
  • Proficient with code versioning tools such as Github or Bitbucket
  • Familiar with quality assurance tools and code validation tools

  • Must be proactive and self-motivated, this position is not for someone who needs to be told exactly what to do and how to do it 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers from a variety of professional disciplines and at different levels of authority
  • Must be able to collaborate and work effectively in a remote / distributed environment
  • Must be able to work in the Central Time Zone
  • Must be willing to travel to Chicago and possibly St. Louis up to three times per year
