The Red Hat Facilities Operations team is looking for a Workplace Move Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will become part of a dynamic team of facility operations professionals, managing the constant demands of space allocation at the corporate headquarters. Your daily tasks will vary greatly and could include maintaining accurate system records, vendor management, furniture installation oversight, budget management, and updating documentation. You’ll need to be highly motivated, associate experience-focused, adapt well to frequent change, and have excellent time and task management skills in a fast-paced corporate environment. In addition, you’ll need the ability to work as part of a team.


  • Carry out the provisioning of workspace in all moves, adds, and changes (MACs) in support of new hires, transfers, projects, ad hoc relocations, and decommissioning
  • Assign associates and contractors to occupied spaces and update the computer-aided facility management (CAFM) system to reflect all arrivals, moves, and departures
  • Lead all coordination efforts for MACs; this includes developing move instructions, welcome packets, and facilitating move meetings with the occupants involved
  • Attend customer meetings to collect requirements and present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders and leadership; present to large groups as needed
  • Develop and carry out plans and sequencing of group-level moves and relocations in cooperation with the Red Hat Facilities Operations team
  • Educate local contacts on planning, space policies and standards, procedures, and protocols
  • Build productive internal and external working relationships
  • Lead the planning, organization, coordination, and oversight of the delivery of move and furniture services
  • Coordinate and analyze proposals and bids from approved vendors
  • Effectively manage program expenses and budgets
  • Manage off-site and on-site furniture inventory
  • Review and assess inventory at least twice per year to keep costs to a minimum
  • Make recommendations to enhance operational efficiency, service delivery, cost savings, and asset utilization
  • Use your professional expertise and apply team practices and procedures to overcome obstacles

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in space management or in a related field working in a corporate office setting
  • Basic understanding of the integrated workplace management system (IWMS) and CAFM system principles
  • Ability to operate a leading IWMS application at the basic level
  • Proficient in a variety of computer applications like Google Suite, Jive, LibreOffice, Oracle, and BlueJeans
  • Working knowledge of project management techniques necessary to expedite efficient office moves and related activities
  • Solid troubleshooting, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make connections across complex ideas
  • Passionate and committed to providing the best experience possible for Red Hat’s associates
  • Highly motivated learner with a positive attitude to challenges and willingness to constantly improve; ability to contribute to the team
  • Great communication and listening skills with experience presenting across all levels of an organization
  • Motivated with the ability to work with little direct supervision in a fast-paced corporate environment while effectively managing time and tasks
  • Familiar with system furniture design and modular furniture while demonstrating knowledge and adherence to building regulations and health and safety guidelines
  • Excellent technical skills in systems furniture installation and specification
  • Good technical judgment and discretion demonstrated in the ability to keep projects on schedule
  • Flexible; this position may require some night and weekend shifts
