Responsibilities

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Temporary Writer/Editor position in our Digital Content & Marketing department based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX! This position can be remote but must live near a major airport. The Writer/Editor helps write, edit, route and plan a wide variety of content about the latest developments in heart disease, stroke and health issues.

This position is a one year temporary assignment.

• Write, edit, route and plan a wide variety of content about the latest developments in heart disease, stroke and health issues
• Educate consumers and serve the lifesaving mission of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association
• Write and edit content for AHA properties and also write and edit content shared widely through syndication and partnerships with other organizations
• Plan artwork develop text for videos and graphics, and route stories for approval
• Work primarily with staff and freelance writers, editors, staff subject matter experts, staff medicine and science experts, and external experts and AHA volunteers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications or related area
• At least five (5) years of experience writing original content
